Middle East: Towards MidEastPan - Design Ideas Competition DEADLINE: 13 July 2009
Background:
With the launch of MidEastPan and towards the Forum of Themes and Sites in the coming September a Design Ideas Competition regarding the Built Environment in the Middle East is being held.
Goals:
To invite, to map, to present and to form ideas, themes and sites towards the first session of MidEastPan.
The competition:
The competition is an open invitation for ideas and projects within the Built Environment in the Middle East. Projects can be of any scale (communal, local, national, regional etc’) and to address any location and context (real or not).
The competition is open to individuals or teams from the Middle East and is held in two streams: General and Students. There is no limitation on the number of entries per person / team.
* Following concurring suggestions the competition is now open to any individual or team. Towards MidEastPan is indeed a Design Ideas Competition; an open invitation for any idea or project proposal within the Built Environment in the Middle East.
Registration is through the competition website. Registration fee in the General stream: 44ˆ Registration fee in the Students stream: 28ˆ The competition is anonymous. Following registration each entry is assigned with a unique ID code. This ID code must be used strictly as articulated ahead. Failure to maintain full anonymity will result in immediate and final disqualification from the competition. General stream:
First prize: 20% of registration fees in the General stream. Second prize: 12% of registration fees in the General stream. Third prize: 8% of registration fees in the General stream.
Students stream:
First prize: 20% of registration fees in the Students stream. Second prize: 12% of registration fees in the Students stream. Third prize: 8% of registration fees in the Students stream.
* Prizes are based on registration fees. Final sums will be published with the closing of registration, on July 13.
